RIIG Visits No.10 Downing Street, Secures Hearing with Transport Select Committee

RIIG Chairman Mike Hughes (right) and Director Keith Rodwell (left) paid a recent visit to No.10 Downing Street, to set out RIIG's case for further development of rail freight interchanges in the UK to the No. 10 Policy Unit.
RIIG is also scheduled to give evidence to the House of Commons Transport Select Committee at their forthcoming The Future of the Railways Inquiry in October. Commenting on recent developments, Mike Hughes said:
"We are pleased to have the opportunity to present our case to Downing Street, and look forward to reiterating this to the Transport Select Committee in due course. We are now moving into a critical phase for our campaign, as the SRA is preparing to issue its Interchange Strategy and Government is reviewing its spending commitments to the rail network."
